Organic Corn Prices Remain Buoyed

 

Organic corn prices are edging higher. Despite thoughts that there was a plethora of organic corn in bins, it appears that the absence of imports, and farmers holding out, has led to higher prices. Merchandisers tell The Jacobsen that now that organic corn prices are bid at $8 on the farm, farmers now want $8.25. Imports came into the U.S. mid-month into North Carolina in the form of organic cracked corn. Additionally, The Jacobsen believes that approximately 25K organic corn arrived in Baltimore at the end of March. Organic whole corn imports in March of 2020 were 33.5K tons, and in April of 2020, organic corn imports were 39.9K tons.
