January US Biofuels Feedstock Use Above 24.65 Billion Pounds

 

EIA January 2021 Biofuels Capacity and Feedstock Update (Formerly the Biodiesel Production Report) 

The Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) released the first edition of its Monthly Biofuels Capacity and Feedstocks Update, replacing the Monthly Biodiesel Production Report.  The report showed there to be 20.431 billion gallons of operable US biofuel production capacity in January.  The Petroleum Supply Monthly report disclosed refinery and blender net inputs of renewable fuel to be 25.42 million barrels.  US inputs of renewable fuel were at 63 percent of monthly capacity. 

The 20.431 billion gallons of US biofuel capacity is separated into three segments.  Fuel alcohol capacity is 17.339 billion gallons, biodiesel capacity is 2.301 billion gallons, and other biofuels (renewable diesel, renewable heating oil, renewable jet fuel, renewable, renewable naphtha, renewable gasoline, and other renewable…
