Supply Disruptions Push MBM and Bloodmeal Prices Higher

Ruminant meat and bone meal and bloodmeal prices moved higher today over nearby supply concerns. Ruminant MBM was up by as much as $12.50 out of the Illinois market and up $5 – 10 in other locations. Ruminant blood trading was up $25 out of the Missouri River and Panhandle markets. Offers are out at higher levels and there is risk for trading to close over $1000 by week’s end due to the tighter production. The increases come despite the lower prices in the soybean meal market today. Prices are higher than recent averages to soybean meal, but on a protein basis MBM remains very well valued.
