Indian Organic Soybean Meal Prices Ease Slightly

 

Organic soybean meal prices are stabilizing at elevated levels. There continues to be volatility, making it difficult to peg prices. The softening in the NCDEX futures contract for the second consecutive week has been a help to consumers that are potentially looking into locking in organic soybean meal prices. Still, with very little organic soybean meal around, shipping rates remain above $250 per metric ton, making imported organic soybean meal prices expensive. Organic soybean meal prices FOB India are quoted in the $1,025 – $1,100 range. Unfortunately, with little word on when an importer will need to deposit funds for duty, few appear willing to take the risk to import organic soybean meal to the United States from India.
