Tight Run-Times Boost Midwest Wheat-Midd Prices

 

Wheat Midd Prices Hold at Elevated Levels in Midwest.

The wheat midd market has tightened this week. Steady demand and less than stellar run-times at processing plants have left supply and demand a bit out of sync according to brokers within the sector. Wheat midd values in the Minneapolis area moved from $185/195 per ton FOB to $195/205 per ton this week. Due to spotty run-times, the outlook for pricing is holding steady at this level through the third quarter.  The KC and Wichita markets, which had been running at a premium are seen holding in the same price range. 

DDGS prices are seen lower this week.  Stronger than expected ethanol production has been pushing supply higher and letting some of the air out of regional prices.  DDGS in Iowa had traded $185 last week and reportedly traded…
