New Record High Prices for Animal Fats

New record-high prices traded today in the distillers corn oil, lard, choice white grease and used cooking oil markets. Cash soybean oil over 80 cents, RIN values over $2.00 and a strong LCFS credit market are all contributing to big demand at higher prices from the biodiesel and renewable diesel sectors. 

Choice white grease FOB Missouri River traded sharply higher today out of the Mo. River market. Demand from biodiesel continues to pull the top side of the grease markets higher with delivered values indicated over the 60 cents per pound level. The higher CWG price is likely to push BFT prices higher in the near term. Used cooking oil (UCO) prices saw similar jumps due to big demand from the renewable sector and increased competition for feedstocks.
