Falling Soybean Oil and Meal Prices Narrow Crush Margin

 

Soybean Crush Central Illinois – Est. Crush Margin Declines on Lower Co-Product Revenue

The Central IL estimated crush margin declined over the past week. Co-product pricing declined more rapidly than soybean costs, allowing the margin to narrow.  In Central IL, soybean costs fell five percent, soybean meal values dropped 2.3 percent, and soybean oil prices fell 7.1 percent during the week ending June 24, 2021. The value received from oil and meal sales per bushel of soybeans crushed decreased from $17.73 per bushel to $16.89, while soybean prices fell from $14.81 to $14.07 cents per bushel.  This allowed the margin to narrow 10 cents to $2.82 per bushel.  The crush margin is 3.5 percent below last week’s value but 164 percent above last year.
