Louisiana Tax Break for PBF Provides Boost for Renewable Diesel Project

The renewable diesel gallons moving into the transportation sector are growing with additional capacity, either under construction or being planned, changing on a continuous basis.  Renewable diesel gallons in North America could grow from just under 900 million gallons of capacity in 2021 to more than 5.5 billion gallons by the end of 2025.

It is not likely that all of today’s production becomes reality, but much of it will.  The impact of growing demand is already being felt by within the feedstock industry.  A lack of refining capacity has the spread between soybean oil crude degummed and RBD at record levels. 

One vertically integrated producer The Jacobsen spoke with suggested that their run-rates during the third and fourth quarter will be reduced.  They felt demand would be strong, but they were likely going to be running their biodiesel plants at extremely reduced rates.  The reason was it…
