Organic Egg Sales Continue to Rise

Organic corn prices are hovering near $9.25 delivered in the mid-West. Prices on the coast remain closer to $12 per bushel. While the demand remains solid, there does seem to be an inversion to new-crop. Organic corn bids for new-crop are closer to $8.50 per bushel, according to merchandisers. There is no inversion in the conventional corn market, and when evaluating Q1 in the conventional market, you can see a small carry. The issue for consumers on the coast is freight rates. Trucking rates remain sticky at $3.25 per mile per load, up from $2.50 per mile per load less than 6-months ago.
