Pipeline Foods Creditor Meeting Describes a Difficult Time for Many Growers

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, a creditors’ public meeting was held in the Pipeline Foods Bankruptcy Case. The Chief Restructuring Officer and the most recent Chief Executive Officer (CRO) of Pipeline Foods were on the call with lawyers and several creditors. At least 80-people were at the virtual meeting at one point.  The call was not uplifting as most of the questions/comments from farmers discussed the hardships which arose from the Pipeline bankruptcy filing. Most of the filings are unsecured debt, which was explained several times during the meeting. Unsecured debtors will receive relief from funds gathered by Pipeline Foods after secured debtors are repaid. There were several questions about merchandisers and their role in soliciting transactions just ahead of the bankruptcy announcement.
