According to the Energy Information Agency (EIA), the United States imported 63.3 million gallons of biomass-based diesel (D4) during June. Imports were 27 percent above May and 42 percent over June 2020. Renewable diesel reached an all-time high of 45.9 million gallons. Renewable diesel imports exceeded biodiesel imports by 27 million gallons in June, up from 23 million in May. California remains the primary market for renewable diesel in the US with solid margins driving demand. Renewable diesel represented 72 percent of total biomass-based diesel imports during the month. The 2021 biomass-based diesel import pace is 30 percent over 2020 through June.
Renewable diesel imports of 45.9 million gallons were 26 percent over May and 78 percent above June of 2020. Singapore is the only country currently exporting renewable diesel to the US. Renewable diesel…
