Organic Milling Wheat Prices Remain Steady

 

Organic soybean meal activity is light, and merchandisers tell The Jacobsen that consumers are unwilling to pull the trigger on long-term contracts. This product has become a hand-to-mouth market.  Inventories are tight, and it won’t be easy to replace the 400K metric tons that India imported into the United States. Organic soybean meal is offered on the West Coast (Oakland/Stockton) at $1,500 per short ton and the East Coast at $1,565 per short ton. That likely puts the price of organic soybean meal near $1,600 per short-ton in the heart of Pennsylvania. Many who The Jacobsen speak with say that consumers believe that prices have peaked.
