Biodiesel Exports on Pace to Set Yearly Record

 

Biodiesel Exports Surpass 20-Million Gallons for Fourth Consecutive Month  

The US imported 13.3 million gallons of biodiesel during July while exporting 20.8 million gallons. Exports exceeded imports for the fourth time in as many months. Export volume is greater than import volume for the year. July exports were 24 percent below June but 43.5 percent above July 2020.  Imports declined 16 percent from June and were 11 percent below July 2020, according to the US Census Bureau. Import volume continues to be low relative 2020 and trails the 2020 import pace by 16 percent. Export volume continues at a solid rate and is 29 percent over the 2020 pace through July. 

The United States averaged 17 million gallons of imports per month during 2020 while exporting 12 million gallons.  The average through July of 2021 is 14.4 million gallons for imports versus 17.2 million gallons for exports. Total imports…
