Porcine MBM and BM Down for Second Week

Porcine MBM and BM Down for Second Week

A light test of the day was reports with most participants waiting for the WASDE and other Friday reports and the upcoming full week. Pressure was witnessed on several markets this week, with the continued port backups and closures in the Gulf as well as persistent trucking hurdles. Porcine meat and bonemeal and bloodmeal witnessed the largest week-on-week declines with an 8.9 and 7.9 percent drop in weekly averages, respectively. Ruminant meat and bonemeal and feathermeal saw declines as well, with average weekly decreases of 3.3 and 32 percent, individually.

Meat and bonemeal and feathermeal have witnessed a decrease in export movement, leading to heightened offerings on the domestic front. Also compounding the trucking, labor, and shipping hurdles are the declines in soybean meal.
