Volatility Continues in Fat Market bu Price Floor Starting to Settle

Mixed tones were present in the market today with a wide range reported on a number of products. Choice white grease traded as high as 55 FOB Mo. River in eight trucks, but the bulk of trading was done in a range of 48  – 50 FOB today. There was also light trading indicated in the 46 – 47 FOB range. Bids were indicated in the 50 delivered range for both biofuels and feed, but again, trading was done as high as 50 FOB for good volume into the feed sector. 

Sellers were more optimistic today on news of reopened rail lines into the Gulf market, but there were no reports of new cars tendered into the Gulf market nor any fixed timelines on when that may happen.

Distiller’s corn oil was higher into Manly, but steady FOB out of the other markets. Ethanol production was estimated higher for the third consecutive week by the EIA, up to 937,000 barrels per day. The Jacobsen estimates DCO…
