Corn Exports Fall Below Forecast

 

Weekly Export Activity

Weekly soybean export sales for the 2021/22 marketing year of 1,264.2 thousand metric tons (TMT) were mostly for China. There were 2 TMT in sales recorded for the 2021/22 crop season, lifting total sales to 1266.2 TMT. Combined crop year sales were above last week but within analyst estimates that ranged from 500 to 1,400 TMT. 2021/22 export commitments are 39 percent of the USDA forecast with 50 weeks remaining in the current crop season. Export sales are 31 percent below the 2020/21 crop year pace. Major purchases were reported for China, Egypt, and Taiwan.

Soybean meal sales for the 2020/21 marketing year of 95.4 TMT were 57 percent above last week and 80 percent over the prior four-week average of 53 TMT. There were 42.4 TMT in sales recorded for the 2021/22 crop season, lifting total sales to 137.8 TMT. Combined crop year sales were 26 percent above the prior weekly report…
