Markets Unchanged for the Week

The AFOA conference in Nashville kept most of the trading light for the entirety of the week, leading to a steady call on all items in the animal fat and oil sector. However, the weekly averages did change moderately due to adjustments at the back end of last week. The weekly average packer bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) market increaed by 4.6 percent or $0.03/lb. Yellow grease, Mo. River was slightly up on the weekly average with a 2.9 percent. The most recent WASDE report showed harvest progress has increased on several items, including soybeans, creating some volatility and downward pricing in the soybean oil market for the days following the report. By week-end valuing had rebounded to some degree, though the weekly average has lowered by one percen or $0.0062/lb.
