LCFS Credit vs Deficit Outlook Shifts Following Q2 Data Release

LCFS credit volume continues to follow its cyclical pattern following the release of second quarter data at the end of October. Weekly volume of 239,888 was 59 percent below the prior week and 47 percent under the 2021 weekly average of 453,815.  Fourth quarter volume is 48 percent over third quarter volume and 91 percent above Q4 of 2020. There were 32 transactions during the week, down from 52 the week before. The weighted average price paid per credit declined $3.06 to $177.27. Of the 32 transactions posted, Type 1 transfers totaled 54,281credits, down from 63,532 the week before.  Type 2 transfers accounted for 185,607 credits, down from 518,357 credits a week ago. Type 1 transfers amounted to 41 percent of the transactions and 23 percent of the volume in the current weekly report.
