Organic Wheat Prices Rise

 

Organic wheat prices are higher and have moved above organic corn prices in some locations due to the lack of supply available. With trucking rates near $4.2 per load per mile, the cost of organic Organic wheat in the Quebec region has traded as high at CAD 510 per metric ton as organic corn, last quoted at CAD 480 per metric ton. In the mid-West, prices have also ticked up. Merchandiser tells Fastmarkets/The Jacobsen that there is no organic wheat available. In many feed rations, organic feed wheat is a substitute for organic corn. If organic corn prices are less expensive locally, the demand for organic corn will increase.
