Biodiesel, Renewable Fuel Prices Ease despite Gains in Energy Futures
Biodiesel and renewable fuel prices were lower in many cases on Thursday despite gains in both heating oil and soybean oil futures. D6 RIN prices were volatile over the course of the day, falling 10.5 cents. The last trade for D6 E21 was heard at about 3:30 ET at 96/98 cents per gallon. D4 B20 and B21 RIN prices retreated four cents on the day.
Market participants had speculated earlier in the week that U.S. EPA might release the long-awaited biofeul blending mandates since November 30 marked the statutory deadline.
