Feathermeal Production at Multi-Year Low

Feathermeal Production at Multi-Year Low

A quiet and steady call was witnessed for Thursday. Logistical issues after the holiday are improving as the week progresses still remain the largest factor affecting the trade.

Feathermeal production for the entirety of 2021 has been lower than 2020 as well as the prior three year average. With the most recent release of the USDA Fats and Oils: Oilseed Crushings, Production, Consumption and Stocks report, a year-over-year decrease of 8.3 to 28.3 percent has been witnessed throughout the 2021. Year-to-date production as of October is at 846 million pounds, a significant drop of 16.7 percent or 170 million pounds compared to the Jan – October period for 2020.
