Tallow, UCO and DCO Prices Surge on Refreshed Demand

Five cars of packer and renderer BFT traded sharply higher on a Chicago basis today. Technical tallow traded at 70 cents per pound Chicago basis today in two rail cars and there were an additional 15 rail cars traded at the equivalent of 67 Chicago, but outside of the Chicago rail corridor.

Chicago CWG was sharply higher as well as was the FOB truck markets. Buyers in select locations have been able to find deals if they’re able to, “get a truck under it in short order” but offers are out substantially higher for the bulk of January. Trading out of the Mo. River region was as high as 46 cents per pound FOB today.

Today’s EIA report estimated ethanol production at 1.048 million barrels per day for last week. The production estimate is the lowest since the week ending November 26th, which was the week of the Thanksgiving holiday.
