Organic Soybean Imports Declined Year over Year

Organic soybean imports increased to 8K metric tons in December. These unofficial numbers examined by Fastmarkets/The Jacobsen came from bills of lading data. The official numbers will not be released for December until early February. We are still waiting for the official data for November, which is scheduled to be released this week. Recall, Fastmarkets estimates that approximately 7.5K metric tons of organic soybeans were imported into the United States in November.

November organic soybean imports arrived at Morehead City, NC, and Gramercy, LA. In December, organic soybean imports that arrived on U.S. shores were split into several locations. Most of the organic soybeans came in a bulk shipment that arrived on the East Coast of the United States. Organic soybeans were imported to Baltimore, Louisiana, Oakland, Longbeach, and Seatle ports. Loads came from Turkey, Argentina, Canada, India, and China.
