European Organic Corn Prices Ease Slightly

Organic soybean meal in Europe remains dear. Prices are quoted around €1,250-1300 per metric ton delivered for a Chinese meal. Chinese organic soybean meal is quoted near $980 per metric ton FOB. According to Agricensus, China’s weekly conventional soybean crushing volume shrank in the week ending January 2. Oil plants shut down during the New Year holiday, which coincided with a lack of soybeans.

Organic soybean meals of Indian origin are more expensive and quoted closer to the €1,350 level. This figure compares to an Indian organic soybean meal quoted near $975 per metric ton FOB. Domestic organic soybean meal with EU origin is quoted between €1,350 and €1,400 per metric ton. Other proteins such as organic peas are trading near €600 per metric ton, while Fava beans are quoted slightly lower near €590 per metric ton.
