Canada Continues to Accelerate Organic Corn Exports to the U.S.

 

The elevated level of organic corn prices show that demand is keeping up with supply. According to the most recent data from the U.S. Customs Department, Organic corn imports rose in December in line with expectations.

Fastmarkets/The Jacobsen reported in December that it expected a vessel to deliver organic corn from Argentina to Baltimore, which appears to have occurred. Recall, “The Viyada Naree, a bulk carrier, is going initially to Morehead City, North Carolina, and is expected to arrive on December 8, 2021. The ship left San Pedro, Argentina, on November 19, 2021,” and will then continue to Baltimore.

According to the U.S. Customs Department, 20.4K metric tons of organic corn arrived on U.S. shores in December. Fastmarkets/The Jacobsen does not expect to see any substantial imports from Argentina until March or July.
