Organic Soybean Prices are Becoming More Opaque

 

The organic soybean market has become very opaque. Prices appear to range from bids $35-$38 and few offers. Except for some farmers that held on to their old crop soybeans, there does not seem to be very many domestic organic soybeans around. There are some soybeans expected to come down from Canada during Q1. Recall, in November 2021, approximately 22K metric tons of organic soybeans were imported into the United States. 45% of this shipment came from Argentina; the balance came from Russia, Ukraine, Canada and India. Shipments in January could come from Russia as well. In January of 2021, about 7.5K metric tons of organic soybeans were imported into the United States from Russia.
