DDG Output Higher Week-on-Week

Weekly ethanol production climbed after a two-week decline, growing by 47 thousand barrels per day to a 1.053 million-barrel-per-day average for the week ending January 17, 2022. Ethanol output was 4.7 percent higher than last week and 11.4 percent above year ago levels. The increase in ethanol production raised DDGS output 4,470 metric tons (MT) per day to 100,149 MT. Production from a year ago shows lower numbers when compared, growing 10,272 MTs for the respective week in 2021.

Weekly gasoline supply rose 4.0 percent to 8.2 million barrels per day, showing a 1.4 percent growth over levels seen at this time last year. Ethanol stocks of 23.59 million barrels increased for a third straight week and were three percent above last week but only slightly underneath than year ago levels.  Imports of sugarcane ethanol were again absent on the West Coast.  Corn demand from ethanol production climbed 696 thousand bushels per day.
