Strategic Biofuels Aims for 2025 Startup with Carbon Capture in Place

 

Strategic Biofuels is Latest RD Producer Looking to Call Louisiana Home

Louisiana is the place to be for renewable diesel.  Established producers such are REG and Diamond Green already call the state home to a couple of the largest renewable diesel plants in the U.S. The state is also attracting new interest among potential startups from PBF Energy and Strategic Biofuels.

Strategic Biofuels received a boost from the state of Louisiana in the form of a $15 million infrastructure improvement grant.  The grant comes from the Louisiana Port Construction and Development Priority Program, run by the Louisiana Dept of Transportation and Development.

Strategic Biofuels intends to build a renewable diesel plant using waste forestry as its primary feedstock.  The facility is expected to be operational by the second half of 2025 and capable of producing up to 34 million gallons of renewable fuel per year, according to Paul…
