Organic Corn Price Increases Decellerate

 

Inflation is the buzzword of the momentum, and the organic grain industry is right in the thick of it. Organic corn prices have increased 37% year over year in January 2022, but prices increases have decelerated. At their peak in 2021, organic corn prices were up as much as 55% year over year. The trend in organic corn prices is increasing month over month, which could provide a reacceleration in prices.

Rising prices continue to be the focus of central banks and are starting to impact the consumer. Last week, the U.S. Labor Department reported a stronger than expected consumer price index driven by higher food prices.
