Weekly LCFS Credit Volume Falls to 24-Week Low

 

LCFS Credit Volume Falls for Fifth Consecutive Week

LCFS credit volume for the week ending February 13, 2022, of 82,940 hit a 24-week low. Trading volume fell for a fifth consecutive week and was 41 percent below the prior week but noticeably above the 27,900 credits that traded during the same time period a year ago.   

Despite the reduced volume in recent weeks, first quarter volume is 20 percent over first quarter 2020 but 11 percent below fourth quarter 2020. There were 11 transactions during the week, down from 24 the week before. The weighted average price paid per credit increased $7.35 to $162.30. Of the 11 transactions posted, Type 1 transfers totaled 38,290 credits while Type 2 transfers accounted for 44,650 credits. Type 1 transfers were 45 percent of the transactions and 46 percent of the volume, according to the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
