Yellow Grease Prices Move Higher, DCO Prices Lower

Used cooking oil prices were indicated lower into the Gulf for forward trades and higher on an FOB basis out of Illinois, Northern California and Southern California today. Sources have indicated that a number of buyers are a “no-bid” today as they continue to try to wait out the volatility in the energy, soybean oil and RIN markets.

Distillers corn oil prices moved lower today for neary and forward sales. Delivered Gulf numbers were lower with sources suggesting 85 was a “tradeable” number today but there was no volume reported. 

Yellow grease prices were higher today and have moved higher through the start of the year, driven by a strong corn market and higher animal fat prices. The weekly average price for Illinois yellow grease is up 39.8 percent since the week ending Dec 31, 2021.
