Organic soybean meal prices are experiencing light liquidity and have a wide bid-offer spread with little activity that has been reported. Merchandisers tell Fastmarkets that African organic soybean meal is offered as low as $900 per short ton and as high as $1,000 delivered in the PA region. U.S. domestic crushed organic soybean meal is offered closer to $1,000 per short ton delivered in the PA region. April appears to have been a light month for organic soybean meal imports into the United States. According to the official figures from the U.S. Customs Department, March also seems weak.
According to bills of lading viewed by Fastmarkets, about 3,000 metric tons of organic soybean meal were imported into the United States in April. The majority of those imports came from Canada. The balance came from India and China.
