Organic grain sales activity is slow. There is barely any new crop corn or soybeans selling. Organic corn prices are still hard to purchase below $10 in the mid-West, although there are reports of lower bids and small activity. Truck rates still make these levels difficult to engage in logistic arbitrage from the Midwest. With truck rates still near $4 per loaded mile and rail rates remaining elevated due to higher crude oil prices, it’s hard to see organic corn selling at meaningfully depressed levels.
