Weekly Poultry-by Pet Grade Depresses on Excess Offerings

At the close of the week, animal proteins were flat but continued to see unsettled undertones.

For the week, most values on animal proteins were rangebound, or only saw minimal adjustments. The largest mover of the week was porcine bloodmeal, up 3.0 percent from last week’s weekly average to $1288/st. Porcine bloodmeal has continued to witness strong demand from most. However, wider ranges have been indicated for the start of July due to pressure from soybean meal and accounts of lower interest.

Poultry-by-products pet food grade was lower for every region on indications of excess offerings. A low of $700/st was noted for the week in both Mid-South and the Southeast U.S. The weekly average was at $781/st, a 2.3-percent drop from last week’s average. Since the start of June, a drop of 20.7-percent, or $203.75/st, on the Mid-South poultry-by-product pet grade has been witnessed due to a flooded market.
