European Organic Grain Markets Languish

European organic grain market activity remains light. Most buyers did their homework ahead of the summer holiday season. Merchandisers tell Fastmarkets that activity is picking up in Germany but is quiet elsewhere. Higher interest rates have weighed on economic activity throughout the European Union, which has hit discretionary items such as consumer animal proteins at supermarkets like organic poultry, eggs, and dairy.

European organic corn prices are heading south. Prices in Central Europe are ballpark near €340 per metric ton. In Spain, prices are closer to €380 per metric ton.
