Trading out of the Australian and New Zealand market was quiet this week on limited trade. Slower production in the New Zealand market due to seasonal maintenance and some production points has kept a floor in the market, but there is some negative pressure coming from shipping delays tied to downtime at a demand point in Asia.
Australian production continues to be strong with the MLA estimating the national cattle slaughter for last week at 117,522 head. The market was mostly steady, but poultry tallow did trade sharply lower on pressure from cheaper alternatives, including veg oils.
