Organic Chicken Prices Slide on Weak Demand

Organic whole-bag fryer prices declined during the past 12 weeks. There is generally a seasonal decline in prices during the summer, but the steep decline is well below prices last year at this time. In 2022, the 12-week moving average was nearly $3.86 per pound. In July 2023, the price is lower with the 12-week moving average near $3.22 per pound, down 15 percent year-over-year.
