Weekly LCFS credit volume ramped higher last week, while prices advanced, according to data from the California Air Resources Board. Credit volume for the week ending July 30, was 830,564, up almost 42 percent from the 585,786 credits that traded the week prior.
The average 2023 credit price of $74.43 was up 54 cents, or 0.73 percent, on the week, but was down almost 33 percent from the $110.58 recorded for the same week in 2022. This leaves the program in the odd, yet somewhat familiar position, of increasing transactions and falling revenue. If this trend continues, it will be for the second consecutive year.
