Animal Fat Prices Continue to Trend Higher

Trading finished the week on a relatively quiet note with one car of tech tallow traded up a penny on a Chicago basis. Choice white grease traded outside of the Chicago rail corridor, but at a price that nets to 68.5 Chicago. The Chicago CWG price will be unquoted at end of trade on Monday if there is no action.
For the week, prices moved higher on improved margins in the renewable fuel industries. However, demand from the feed sector is lower for low acid fats due to lower priced alternatives. Sources have indicated that demand from the renewable sector, at present, is strong enough to offset the loss of demand and keep prices steady.
