Demand for organic products remains solid, despite the availability of less expensive alternatives. Organic products are discretionary, and robust jobs data help buoy demand. A recent study about food purchasing behavior shows that organic shoppers have less leeway than many had previously thought.

The underlying theme is that most buyers of poultry products focus on price rather than how the chicken was raised, the GMO ingredients, or the organic standards needed to provide for specific poultry. Value is the most essential aspect of purchasing habits for most shoppers, and value points to the price.
