Evolving Science Adds to Uncertainty in Non-GMO Markets

There have been substantial gains in gene editing that will test widely held views on genetically modified crops.  The Chinese government approved a soybean with an improved fatty acid profile, the first gene edited food crop in the country.  The Philippines introduced a non-browning banana, and the U.S. approved a mustard green with reduced bitterness, both achieved with gene editing technology.  All of these were approved in the last few months.
