CBOT Grains Drop After August WASDE Release

Grain and feed items had increased trading activity this week as the Midwest benefited from moderate temperatures and showers. Concerns about crop damage have diminished due to the stable Midwest climate, which provides an ideal environment for yield development and kernel quality. Market participants noted mixed values for DDGS this week, with a temporary slowdown in demand, particularly in the deferred market. However, there was some hesitancy prior to today’s release of the USDA WASDE report.

Corn gluten products witnessed higher trading activity this week, with reported trades on corn gluten feed in Iowa and corn gluten meal in Illinois. However, other sources observed strong interest at lower price levels.
