Prices in Australia held firm this week, with sources pointing to an ongoing increase in the country’s cattle slaughter. The MLA showed national Australian cattle slaughter at 127,377, a 39-month high, during the week ending September 1. This was up 3.6 percent from the week before and more than 37 percent from the same week in 2022. As of September 1, year-to-date slaughter levels in Australia totaled 3.89 million, up about 21 percent from the same time period in 2022.
