Oregon CFP Credit Hits 3-Year High

California and Oregon share not only a border, but both have low carbon fuel programs in place to limit greenhouse gas emissions. Credit prices of these programs are moving in opposite directions. Even British Columbia, further to the north in Canada, is seeing the average monthly price of LCFS credits move higher.

The latest data available for the three programs shows a contrast between California and the other two states. The average monthly credit price in Oregon held at a three-year high of $137 in August, while BC, Canada, posted a four-month high of $475. California pricing averaged $77 in August, up $2 from June, but only $6s off its lowest monthly average since October 2015 ($71 reached in February).
