Corn Crop Quality Shifted Higher, Soybeans Worsen

Trading activity for corn gluten products was minimal today with no new prices reported. Participants in the market indicated that corn gluten feed is steady while corn gluten meal appears to be firm across the board, consistent with current price ranges.

Most CME grain prices witnessed an upward trend on Tuesday. The only grain that experienced a decrease was December corn, which dropped by $0.015 and closed at $4.79/bu. November soybeans increased by $0.05 and settled at $13.02/bu. Additionally, October soymeal rose by $2.00 and closed at $394.00/st., and December wheat remained unchanged at $5.89/bu. Grain prices were mixed as participants prepare for the highly anticipated quarterly grain stocks report from USDA on Friday. As a result of increased harvest pressure, corn prices declined while soybeans saw a surge in prices due to unexpected crop ratings and a slower than expected harvesting pace.
