October Poultry Slaughter Forecasted below 2022

Pressure on most ruminant and porcine items was communicated for the day, which has been an ongoing tone for about a month. Pricing levels, however, did show an adjustment for the first week of October. The combination of a drop in soybean meal as well as the expectations of a new crop have increased pressure on feed items.

A low of $400/st was reported in the Mo. River region for porcine meat and bonemeal, though the bulk of trade could not be confirmed at those values as of press time. A new range of $420-470/st on most trade was indicated. Indiana porcine bloodmeal was reported in limited quantities at $1100/st, though the bulk of trade was at a lower range of $950-1000/st. Porcine bloodmeal was flat for the day.
