Nearby Demand Absence Spurs Big Drops in Fats and UCO Market

**Please Note – Ryan Standard will be at the NARA Conference in Naples, FL for the remainder of the week. In his absence, please contact Amanda Luhavalja at [email protected].**

It was a very active day in the animal fat market at mostly lower prices. Sellers were active coming out of the AFOA conference last week and ahead of the North American Renderers Association (NARA) conference this week. The general sentiment in the market was that there are a lack of buyers in the biofuels market and feed and oleochemical demand remain present, but at lower prices.

Choice white grease was steady today out of the Mo. River market, but the smaller volume trades at higher prices that were present last week have evaporated. The bulk of volume today was done at 50 cts/lb FOB Mo. River and Carolinas, although there were several trucks that traded as high as 52 cts/lb FOB Mo. River.
