The tone for today was mixed but was highly active with most participants trading in the animal proteins market. Values were unsettled and some items were trading in wider ranges due to market unease and higher soybean meal values.
The largest jump of the day was on porcine bloodmeal. While ruminant bloodmeal was flat, porcine moved higher on strong interest levels and diminished inventory. A high of $1200/st was reported out of the IA/MO/NE and $1250/st in Indiana, however, the bulk of the market could not be confirmed that high as of press time. IA/MO/NE was confirmed in bulk at $1000-1150/st while IN was $1150-1200/st, a significant jump for both regions.
