Poultry Items Softer From Last Week

Animal protein prices were highly mixed for the week, with some participants working on trade out front due to the Thanksgiving holiday, while others were out of the market due to persistent unsettled tones. Bloodmeal prices were strong again, though no significant value changes were reported unlike last week.

The weekly average of IA/MN/NE porcine bloodmeal was up $60/st, to $1148/st. Similarly, ruminant bloodmeal, Mo. River, moved up $43/st from the weekly average last week to $990/st. Nearby supply for both products was described as limited due to active demand levels.

Meat and bonemeal was steady to softer this week, with ruminant, Mo. River, dropping 2.2 percent while porcine decreased less than half a percent from the prior week.
