Animal Proteins Prices Fall vs SBM in October

Animal Proteins Prices Fall vs SBM in October

Please note – Chloe Krimmel is out of the office until Monday, November 13th. In her absence, please contact Ryan Standard
Trading today was mostly quiet but there was lower trading done on porcine and ruminant bloodmeal. Feathermeal was lower out of the Mid-South market and pet grade poultry meal was as low as $600 FOB Mid South on reports of strong nearby supply.
Values on soybean meal rose for the month of October, while several animal protein items were flat or lower on monthly averages. Due to the diverging trends in pricing, the average relative monthly price for proteins to soybean meal increased in October. The only item to not have an increase in the spread was bloodmeal, due to heightened demand pushing prices higher.
